Why Essential Amino Acids are ESSENTIAL!

Why Essential Amino Acids are ESSENTIAL!

By: Megan Tomlin

What the heck are essential amino acids?

Simply put, they are the building blocks of proteins.

We collect these amino acids and combine them inside our bodies to form full proteins. Some of the primary functions that amino acids help with are hormone regulation, immune function, metabolism, energy, appetite, muscle production, detoxification, and neurotransmitter production.

There are very few areas in our health and bodies where amino acids do not function. In total, we can only get nine essential amino acids from the foods and supplements we put into our bodies.

Lucky for you, every Blender Bomb contains every single essential amino acid. It is extremely rare for a plant source to contain every amino acid, so we have to mix and match to combine and ensure that we ingest all of the essential amino acids if we are not consuming animal protein.

In every Blender Bomb, we have made sure to include specific ingredients that combine to form a bomb that has all nine essential amino acids. The nine essential amino acids are histidine, leucine, isoleucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine. Hemp seeds and quinoa are among the only foods that contain all nine essential amino acids and are considered complete protein. Blender Bombs combine hemp seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, and nuts to ensure that we get adequate levels of each amino acid.

In case you needed yet another reason to believe in the amazing powers of Blender Bombs, this is it.

  1. HISTIDINE: Improves immune function, digestion, and sleep function
  2. ISOLEUCINE: Helps muscle metabolism and regulates energy
  3. LEUCINE: Helps your body make growth hormones and regulates blood sugar
  4. LYSINE: Assists immune function and energy regulation
  5. METHIONINE: Assists detoxification and absorption of vital minerals
  6. PHENYLALANINE: Produces neurotransmitters
  7. THREONINE: Plays an integral role in collagen and elastin structure
  8. TRYPTOPHAN: Regulates mood, appetite, and sleep
  9. VALINE: Assists muscle growth and energy production
